These Museum of Glass family portraits will inspire you to book a winter session with AHP! The Barber family scheduled their portrait session for late winter, and we spent this overcast March day at the MOG. I was lucky enough to get to know this awesome family when Miss Abby was on the Class of 2020 AHP Model Team. Abby graced the cover of last year’s magazine, which you can view here.
What to Wear for Family Portraits
There are so many options for what to wear to your family portrait session. I have a fun guide that outlines different color palettes and outfit ideas, but you can also follow me on Pinterest for more inspiration! The Barber family decided on tan and nude colors, which looked great together. This is a perfect color palette for winter portraits in the PNW, too.
By wearing neutral colors, the Barbers blended in nicely with the winter weather and grey skies. Plus, there are plenty of neutral backgrounds at the Museum of Glass that complemented their outfit choices. When deciding what to wear, it is helpful to consider the season and the location. Outdoor locations especially will require extra layers in case it gets cold, while indoor sessions at the studio benefit from a controlled climate. The Barbers braved the cold and the results were ah-mazing!
Portraits with the Family
I have known Abby and her family for over a year, and it was so much fun to get everyone together for this session. They even brought along the kiddos! It is so important to me that families feel comfortable in front of the camera, so of course we capture candid and posed portraits.
We walked around the museum grounds, taking group photos of the girls and guys separately in addition to couple portraits. This family had so much fun and kept each other laughing throughout the session. I am so grateful to the Barbers for choosing me to capture their family portraits!
