Having an indoor and outdoor maternity session gives you the best of both worlds. When Staci found out she was having her first girl, we knew we had to go all out for her maternity portraits. This boss babe was already a mama to two boys. So she was so excited to add a girl to the mix.
Studio 253 Maternity Portraits
I have an ah-mazing studio in the heart of downtown Tacoma. Expecting mamas can have beautiful indoor portraits here with tons of natural light. We also have different backdrops and furniture throughout Studio 253 for versatility, and no session is identical!
We chose a more feminine look for Staci’s indoor maternity portraits. This was such a fitting way to celebrate her first girl. She wore strands of pearls that complemented her ivory lace robe and lingerie set. And it was easy to swap out the robe for a beautiful pink tutu. I just love Staci’s bold red hair, too!
In addition to the girly pink and ivory outfits, Staci brought a stunning black lace set. Having maternity portraits done in the studio means you have your choice of a dark and moody setting or a light and airy one. This adds contrast to your portraits. You’ll also have so many choices when it is time to pick your favorites from the session.
Outdoor Family Portraits in the PNW
Staci brought along the whole family for her outdoor maternity portraits and we had so much fun. We explored the trails in Orting for some classic PNW portraits. There are so many gorgeous outdoor locations, and I love capturing families near their homes. We also headed down to the river in Puyallup for some boho portraits, complete with a flower crown for Staci.
If you are wondering what to wear for family portraits, don’t miss my blog with outfit ideas here. Coordinating outfits from the same color palette can give your portraits a cohesive look. Staci chose blush, navy, and white colors for some of her family portraits, but she also wasn’t afraid to play with a bold yellow color for her other portraits.
