Winter Family Studio Portraits
I got to meet with Miss Jaycee (a member of the 2022 AHP Model team) and her family this January for some much-needed winter family studio portraits. We were able to get her and her incredible family some great, updated, family photos in the studio! And during the perfect time too, because Grandma was visiting! What better time to schedule a shoot??
January Portrait Sessions
While wintertime might not be the first season that comes to mind when you are planning for family portraits, it is the perfect time for an indoor family session! My studio in downtown Tacoma is ideal for those rainy, windy, or snowy winter days. Studio253 is filled with natural light and is a versatile space. During our time, we can capture portraits inside with simple backgrounds that look clean, sophisticated, and bring the focus to the family. These portraits are timeless, and winter is the perfect time to get some cuddly shots with the ones you love!
Memories With the Family
It’s always a good idea to get updated family portraits every couple of years (preferably every year!). And I love helping families with this! As kids grow and change, it’s so important to document each stage they are in. If you have older family members as well, like Jaycee and her family do, it can be a great time to create special memories with your loved ones. Plus, grandmas always make the shoots more fun! Just look how cute they all are together! I can never get enough of those fun shots with siblings playing around!
What to Expect From a Studio Session
If you have never had a studio session before, it can sound hard to plan for. But, it’s just like any other family photo day. And knowing a few tips ahead of time can make things much easier for you! Especially around the holiday season when things can get busy, quick! Start planning early for family outfits (or a color scheme), pose ideas, and overall feel you want your portraits to have. They can be holiday themed, fun and casual, fancy and dressed up, or really, any other style you can think of! You may also want to schedule salon appointments or a Hair and Makeup artist in advance, if you are wanting to get your look tailored specifically for studio lighting. Nothing like a fresh cut to have you feeling refreshed for photos!
