This summer Anacortes wedding was so beautiful. Anna and Corey are an ah-mazing couple and they were up for adventure on their wedding day! We drove around to different locations for the best bride and groom portraits and they enjoyed every second. I am so excited to feature this beautiful wedding on the blog.
Getting Ready with the Girls
Anna had her closest friends by her side when getting ready for her wedding. They wore glam silk robes during hair and makeup and celebrated with a few fun drinks. It is so important to be surrounded by people who are excited for you on your wedding day! You could tell how much love and support the girls had for the bride.
The bridesmaids all wore mismatched blush dresses and delicate flower crowns. I love the ombre look for bridal parties! Each bridesmaid picked a dress that suited her personality and they all looked gorgeous. And the mismatched look was perfect for bridal party portraits.
PNW Bridal Style
Anna is a lovely dancer and wanted her wedding day to be modern and romantic. She wore a tulle ball gown with embroidery. Her hair was in a low chignon with a side braid and curls, topped off with the most ah-mazing pink veil. She went with a natural makeup look that highlighted her gorgeous features. And I love her tattoos! Her unique bridal look was very PNW.
Windy Bride and Groom Portraits
We went to Fidalgo Head in Washington Park. The trail has stunning ocean views and evergreen trees. Anna and Corey had a first look on the beach with their wedding party cheering them on. Corey had one of the best reactions to seeing his bride in her gorgeous wedding gown. And he looked so sharp in his suit and bowtie.
It was a windy day, but I love how that added so much movement to their bride and groom portraits. It brought Anna’s blush veil to life, too. Anna and Corey looked out over the water and soaked in every moment of the day.
The wedding party had a ton of fun, jumping for joy and posing for portraits. They even brought along clear umbrellas just in case – rain is always a risk in the PNW, after all. We walked along the trails and captured more portraits of these soon-to-be newlyweds with their wedding party.
The Ceremony by the Water
Anna and Corey had a close friend officiate their wedding, which made their ceremony that much more meaningful. These two exchanged personal vows outside on the Port of Anacortes dock. I loved seeing their guests’ reactions to their vows, so many of them were wiping away tears! The love that these two share is truly beautiful.
One of the best parts about getting married on the dock is that you could hear the water beneath their feet. It was such a neat aspect of having the ceremony by the water. We even saw a seal at one point during the ceremony! Such a fun and unique wedding.
A Reception to Remember
Anna and Corey had their reception at the Transit Shed event center, right on the water at the Port of Anacortes. This is one of the best Anacortes wedding venues! The venue had a fancy feel, but with artsy touches for Anna and Corey. And you could still hear the water below the dock, reminding us we were on the port.
The event center has a groovy checkerboard dance floor where the bride and groom had their first dance. They also shared dances with their parents, which was so sweet. The dance floor had string lights and paper lanterns above and there was gorgeous greenery throughout the venue.
This wedding reception was all about dancing the night away and having fun with family and friends. Anna’s mom is a singer and sang during the reception. Everyone was on the dance floor for that!
