Purple Winter Wedding
Shelly and Rick’s purple winter wedding was a dream for me to shoot. Not just because of the color (hello gorgeous purple!) but because they also happened to be my neighbors! It’s always fun photographing a couple’s special day, but it’s even more fun when that couple is your neighbor! Everything about this winter day was gorgeous and I couldn’t have been happier to share in the memories.
Intimate Backyard Wedding
Shelly and Rick got married this February (02-02-2022 to be exact!) at their new home in Puyallup. They had their close family in attendance for an intimate backyard wedding. The vows were held under a beautifully ornamented gazebo, full of draping white cloth, flowers, and lights. So dreamy! It all felt warm and inviting, perfect to warm up the chilly day!
The Beauty is in the Details
Everything was decorated with the most gorgeous royal purple! Even down to the pre-wedding drinks! They made sure every detail was accounted for. From Shelly’s rhinestone-crested converse (how fun!) to the diamond-wrapped bouquet, and of course Shelly’s long strands of pearls that adorned her long purple dress, the wedding was full of intricate details. And plenty of gems!
Purple Perfection!
Even with all the other AH-mazing details, my favorite from the day had to be Shelly’s hair. Her stylists added a crown of white berries to her long dark hair that branched behind and down her intricate braid. She even had a few strands of hair dyed purple to match! Absolutely beautiful. After 20 years of weddings, I think I finally found a bride who loves purple as much as I do! And she lived right down the street!
AHP Wedding Season
Weddings hold a special place in my heart, partly because I have been shooting them for so long! I began photographing weddings in 2004 after I graduated from the Brooks Institute of Photography. Since then, I have taken my love for photography and weddings and moved them from Santa Barbra to Washington State, and here we are! I Each time I get to help a couple comemeorate their love, I can’t help but smile (and sometimes shed a few tears!). I just love love!
