New Year’s Eve Courthouse Elopement in Seattle

June 30, 2020

This New Year’s Eve courthouse elopement in Seattle is a testament to how much I love capturing life events for my clients. I met Grace when she was a high school senior – I photographed her senior portraits! When she reached back out to ask me to photograph her wedding, I was so touched. Building relationships like these with my clients is so meaningful.

Simple Wedding Ceremony

Grace and Aaron are both in the service. These two truly are a perfect match for each other. They decided to do a simple courthouse wedding ceremony, which allowed them to focus on each other as they said, “I do.”

With the current pandemic, it makes sense that more couples are turning towards simple wedding ceremonies and elopements. It keeps the guest count at a minimum. I love how intimate these ceremonies are, and it is ah-mazing to see couples get creative for their wedding day.

Seattle Courthouse

These two chose to exchange vows at the courthouse in Seattle. Though you may think a courthouse wedding is minimalistic, this courthouse has fab views of the city and is the perfect urban setting for an elopement.

We headed to the rooftop to see the sights and capture bride and groom portraits. You can see all the city lights in the background, and iconic Seattle buildings like the Smith Tower. Grace and Aaron were all smiles.

Elope in Style

Even if you and your fiancé decide on a simple ceremony without guests, you can still go all out with your wedding day outfits! The bride’s gorgeous silk wedding dress had a timeless sweetheart neckline and buttons down the back. I just love that Grace can look back on these photos for years to come and they will always feel classic. She chose a short veil and stunning jewelry to complement her gown.

The groom looked so handsome in his uniform. These two are just so cute together. Grace carried a modern bouquet with red and white flowers with touches of greenery. It looked perfect with the red trim on Aaron’s uniform.

New Year’s Eve Anniversary

These two chose to elope on New Year’s Eve, which is one way to make sure you always remember your anniversary date! After exchanging vows and seeing the sights, we walked the city streets and captured more elopement portraits. After the ceremony and portraits, these two were free to ring in the new year with family and friends and watch the fireworks.

I am so grateful to Grace and Aaron for trusting me to capture their intimate NYE courthouse elopement in Seattle. Scroll through for some gorgeous elopement inspiration and how to connect with me to discuss your elopement vision!
