Mid-June Family Portraits
I loved getting to know the Koester Family a bit more at their mid-June family portraits! Their sweet Daughter, Miss Lexie, was on my Class of 2022 Model Team. I have gotten the chance to meet her parents a few times, but it was a blast getting to have a whole afternoon together! Family portraits are such a special time to capture the unique relationships between siblings and parents, especially as children get older and begin to leave home. It makes me so happy to get to capture these memories for families, and even more so when it is for a team girl I have gotten to know so well!!
Quality Photos and Quality Family Time
As you might know, being a redhead myself, I love redheads! I simply must have one on my team every year. And in 2022, it was Lexie! Lexie was such a wonderful young lady to meet. She reminded me so much of myself at that age. A perk of the Model Team is that each girl receives a complimentary family session! Which means I get a special way to say “thank you” to families for letting their girls spend so much time with me and the team. But more than that, I want to give these great families time together with their daughters before they graduate! Senior year is a pivotal time in their life, and sometimes, one of the last chances they all live so close. My goal is to give these families not only quality photos but quality time with one another. And that is the true gift!
A New Style of Family Photos
If you have been wanting a glimpse into what a family session is all about, this is the post for you! For this session, I took Lexie’s family to Chambers Bay. We walked around, chatted, and took photos in between all the laughs and stories. Sounds pretty painless right? My method is all about taking the negative stigma out of family portraits! Traditional family photos tend to get a bad rap. No one likes being forced to wear uncomfy clothes and being told to smile while a stranger points a big camera at you. I get it! Which is exactly why that is not my style! My goal is to make sure everyone in the group has the best family portrait session they can! Even the teenagers! So how do we do that?
Portraits Designed with Your Family in Mind
Ensuring that family portraits are a fun time for everyone all lies in the plan! After we get a date in the books for your session, we will start planning. I will ask you questions about your family, what you enjoy doing together, and how you envision your photos. Basically, I want to know about you! All families are unique, and I believe your family portraits should reflect that! We will design the day with your family in mind. From the clothing to the location, and even who is there. No matter what your style, we can make the day fit for you. P.S. We love having your furry family members come along too! Check out these Ft. Stilly family photos to see some examples of our cute family pets!
