Couple Portraits in Tacoma
Abby and Zach came by Studio253 this summer to play around in front of the camera and shoot this round of adorable couple portraits in Tacoma with me! They immediately kicked it off with the best, ’90s, Levi vibes fits, which had me dying!! The whole shoot gave young, summertime nostalgia, perfect for these two cuties. I love when couples trust me to capture their relationship openly, and I couldn’t have asked for better models for this summery shoot!
BF-GF Studio Shoot!
This awesome couple came to model for me and do some really cute, matchy-matchy, BF-GF shoots! We got into the studio early in the morning, but the summertime heat was sweltering already. Even in these temperatures, Abby and Zach were troopers, making the photos look effortless and natural. This year, we changed out the wooden floors in the studio, to an updated, all-white look. Let me say, I am obsessed with these floors!! They reflect the light perfectly and give a timeless, blank canvas to showcase each of our models. What do you all think of them??
Summer in Opera Alley
When we couldn’t take the heat any longer, we took the camera and headed outside to explore the gorgeous Opera Alley! We got the best, warm, summer light to compliment the retro downtown atmosphere. Our backgrounds focused on plain, bold walls with concrete accents. We used the black and white checkered tiles, the red brick walls, and that gorgeous white, industrial building with huge black-framed windows. Using neutrals throughout the shoot complimented Abby and Zach’s outfit selection and left the photos with that infinite, open-ended feeling that summertime always evokes. AH-mazing!!
Relax, Be Yourself, and Trust Your Photographer
Part of what made this couple’s shoot a success was having models who weren’t afraid to do their own thing. Abby and Zach went with the flow and were completely themselves. They trusted me for suggestions and pose ideas (it’s always important to trust your photographer!), but ultimately made the session their own. You can see how comfortable they were by how their portraits turned out. SO cute and SO fun! That’s what I always want for my clients. Sessions are supposed to be a fun representation of your relationship, and memories you two can share forever! So whether it is in overalls and Calvin Klein, or a ball gown and tuxedo, my best advice for photoshoots (and for life) is to always be yourself. It’s way more fun that way!
