If you are considering a small, intimate wedding, this backyard wedding in Olympia has all the inspiration you need. This year has been a strange one for weddings due to COVID, and smaller gatherings may become the new normal for a while.
Justine and Jason celebrated their marriage with a private ceremony in July of 2018. They had their wedding ceremony at a local park before hosting their family in their backyard for a reception. These two chose ah-mazing wedding décor for their backyard wedding reception. I simply love how every detail showed their overall style and what they are like as a couple.
Personalized Wedding Ceremony
Justine and Jason chose to keep their ceremony smaller than their reception. Their immediate families, including their kids, witnessed their vows. Their sweet daughter held a wood sign to announce the bride was on her way down the aisle. And the groom’s brother served as the officiant for their personalized wedding ceremony.
Wedding Portraits
After this sweet couple said “I do” on a dock by the water, we took family portraits on a wooded trail in the park. Summer in the PNW is always gorgeous, and the weather was so lovely for Justine and Jason’s wedding. It was sunny and warm.
Jason drove his Ford truck to the wedding ceremony, so we couldn’t miss out on an opportunity for some rustic bride and groom portraits by it. The sunlight peeked through the tall trees for their portraits, and it was so romantic.
Bride and Groom Style
Justine and Jason are so stylish! Justine chose a gorgeous form-fitting lace wedding dress with a V-neckline and crystal belt. She wore strappy silver sandals and tucked delicate flowers in her curled hair. She carried a stunning bouquet of yellow and white flowers, which matched her daughter’s cute flower crown.
Jason was a handsome groom that kept it simple with dress slacks, red suspenders, and a bow tie. Suspenders and bow ties are making a comeback, and I simply love when grooms personalize their outfits with unique details.
Their wedding outfits fit perfectly in the gorgeous Olympia park, and they were comfortable for their backyard wedding reception.
The Best Decor for an Intimate Wedding
After the ceremony, we headed to Justine and Jason’s awesome backyard for their intimate wedding reception. The rest of their family and friends joined them to celebrate. These two transformed their backyard into the cutest wedding venue, and a fun sign directed guests to the reception.
Huge floral blooms decorated a white backdrop for their gift table, with a personalized mailbox to hold wedding cards. And a backyard reception wouldn’t be complete without a fun drinks table, and Justine and Jason let guests personalize their cups with chalk pens. The party kicked off with margaritas and spiked lemonade. So fun!
The tables were set with linen table runners, mason jars filled with flowers, and wood centerpieces. The lush greenery of the backyard made it feel like a secret garden.
Family Referrals
This is the third family wedding I have captured for the ah-mazing Diamond family. I am so grateful to the Diamonds for trusting me with family milestones. It has been so much fun getting to know everyone in the family! Client referrals mean the world to me.
