Summertime Wedding in Auburn
My beautiful bride and groom, Allison and Eric, got married this past August in a gorgeous summertime wedding in Auburn, Washington. It was the perfect summer day to celebrate their love. A touch of blue clouds and thankfully, not too hot! Late August can be notoriously sweltering in the PNW, so we were all so happy when the weather cooperated with our schedule of events. Let’s call it a little wedding present for these two love birds!
A Love to Celebrate
I met Allison and Eric through one of my Model Team girls. They are such a sweet couple and I was honored when they chose me to capture their special day! Celebrating with the bride and groom, and their family and friends are one of the reasons I love shooting weddings. Year after year, I never tire of capturing their first kiss as a married couple, the father-daughter dance, and all the other fun traditions that the couple has chosen to share. No matter what anyone else thinks, I love weddings! What’s not to love about love?!
Outdoor Wedding Ceremony
Allison and Eric held their ceremony at a lovely outdoor venue in Auburn. The vows took place under a square wedding arch, decorated with a purple display of flowers that matched the bridal and bridesmaid bouquets. The rest of the venue had vibrant green landscaping, trees, and large hydrangea bushes, fully blooming with white flowers. They were the perfect background for the ceremony pictures! Even with all that natural beauty, the bride and groom were still the stars of the show!
Capturing the Purple Details
The couple continued their touches of purple into the reception, which of course, I was excited to see! They held the reception under a large event tent on the lawn. Each table was decorated with a purple tablecloth, flowers, and tealight candles to complete the design. I may be biased, but I think purple is the best wedding color! Throughout the whole day, Allison and Eric were smiling ear to ear. It is my favorite when I get to photograph couples having fun and getting to relax and enjoy their wedding day. Based on all the laughs and smiles, I think it’s safe to say everyone had a fabulous time!

Capturing the little things at a wedding is as crucial for any photographer as getting the big moments. It’s the little details that go into making this day uniquely personal to the couple. And Allison and Eric had the best mix of fun and functionality for their guests! While purple was their main color, they also had another theme present: The Nightmare Before Christmas! How cute is that?? Their reception had nods to the Tim Burton film in several places, but most adorably in the couple’s cake topper! Allison and Eric, or should I say Sally and Jack, even had their own version of the movie poster at the reception. It was totally AH-mazing, and more importantly, totally them! This fun couple was the best and it was little details like this that makes me so excited for their future together! Congratulations to Allison and Eric!
