Studio Pageant Tacoma Portraits
Ella’s studio pageant Tacoma portraits are a special reminder to throw on something you love and have a little fun, especially when life gets hard! This White River High Schooler has been through a lot, from numerous health problems to a mysterious illness that kept her in and out of the hospital. She also had the regular ups and downs that come from being a busy student-athlete. But things began to brighten for Ella when her mother, along with the help of her amazing doctor, found the cause of her illness: MALS. To read more about MALS, and to hear Ella talk about her experience, please check out the links shown.
Never Give Up
Ella is all about never giving up. That motto along with her creative and adventurous spirit lead her to the Miss Washington Teen USA Pageant, and, to me! Before she competes as Miss Pierce County later this fall, she and I got to play around in my Tacoma studio. We got some awesome shots of her in her pageant wear; crown and all! Because who can wait until fall to show off these outfits?? Everything about the shoot was AH-mazing, just like Ella! Versatility of Studio Sessions
One of the best parts about having a portrait session done with me in Studio 253 is the versatility of the space. Any look you want, we can achieve. We have so many different walls, backgrounds, and seamless papers. For Ella’s shoot, we had a combination of many styles to match her many looks. We paired the bright yellow background with her more casual jeans and white crop top fit. For a more whimsical look that paired so well with her adorable tulle and plaid skirts, we added the draped curtains and played with the lighting from the windows and built-in studio lights. Can we also talk about how fun our pink collaged walls are?!
Commemorating a Journey
While Miss Ella’s AHP session was a fun day to commemorate her amazing journey, studio portraits can be done for a multitude of reasons. They are great for senior sessions, styled shoots, or family portraits (see Daizy or Chloe’s session for some examples). It was an absolute pleasure getting to photograph Ella this January. We wish you the best of luck in your Miss Washington Pageant. Through this organization and her pageant work, Ella continues to have fun all while she spreads awareness and hope to an under-diagnosed community! We cannot wait to see where your journey takes you next!
