Genesis Farm Family Portraits
I got to meet up with the lovely Pampe family this summer to capture their Genesis Farm family portraits. I have had the pleasure of doing shoots for this couple for years, including their engagement and wedding photography, and their maternity session. They reached out to me again to have some family portraits taken with their son, and we decided mid-July would be the best time. I love seeing families grow and clients returning year after year to create even more memories with each other! There really is nothing like capturing these precious moments for families to look back on for generations to come.
Location: Genesis Farm and Gardens
For this family portrait session, we decided to head to Genesis Farm and Gardens in Auburn, WA. This location is normally a wedding venue, but I love it for families and graduates too. As the name suggests, Genesis Farm and Gardens is known for gorgeous English-style gardens and continually blooming flowers. They also feature a lovely green landscape with a charming pond, fountains, and beautiful farmland. On clear days, you can also get a great view of Mt. Rainier, the pride of the PNW! This location offers so many great spots for portraits, and that’s one of the reasons we liked it for the Pampe family.
Kid-Friendly Portraits in Auburn
The golden rule of taking family portraits with younger children is to keep things fun! Kids love to explore and finding a location that accommodates that is key to snagging some great photos. To keep things interesting, the day was all about movement! We started our shoot off by taking a few standing portraits with the huge hydrangea bushes that were in bloom. Then the family got to explore the rest of the venue while I followed and took portraits. One of my favorite images from the day was when their son found a cat on the property wandering around in the bushes! They were both so cute!
Sunshine and Swing Sets
The final area the family found was the wooden tree swing on the edge of the venue. We ended our day there, taking lots of pictures with Mom and Dad, and capturing plenty of smiles from everyone! One of the things I love most about summertime portraits is how perfect the sunlight is, especially in mid-July. The warm light casts a soft blanket over everything it touches and makes all of the images absolutely stunning. All day long, we had the best light and I just love how these photos turned out. As always, this family was so much fun to shoot with! It is such an honor when families trust me to take their portraits year after year and I cannot wait to see what comes next for this family!
