Fall Wedding in Tenino
This fall wedding in Tenino was a beautiful joining of two families. I first met JoAnna and Chris a year ago when I captured their family portraits, and I am so grateful they trusted me to photograph their October wedding!
Rustic Barn Wedding
These two lovebirds decided on a small, intimate wedding at Riverbend Ranch in Tenino. It was my second time at the venue, and I simply love how JoAnna and Chris made the space their own. The barn was decorated with magical string lights, with touches of blue and gold throughout the venue. They even set up cozy blankets for their guests to use – perfect for a fall wedding.
Getting Ready for the Wedding
The bride and groom got ready separately before doing a first look! This allowed us extra time to do photos beforehand. JoAnna had a gorgeous, whimsical bouquet and sparkly gold shoes for the ceremony. Her lace dress was timeless and stunning. Chris wore a striking blue suit and tie. It was so much fun seeing these two get ready surrounded by their kids, close friends, and family members.
The First Look
Having a first look can be such a sweet way to start your wedding day. It can also be quite emotional! Chris teared up seeing his bride in her gorgeous gown, holding her bouquet. These two first met at work. They have helped each other through traumatic events in their relationship. The love they have for each other is so deep, and it is apparent to anyone who sees the two of them together.
Their blended family is just the sweetest. After the first look, we took portraits with their kids, and you could just feel the excitement! Setting aside ample time for portraits is so important. I love working with my couples to set a timeline and make sure the day flows smoothly. In addition to family portraits, we captured stunning bride and groom portraits of JoAnna and Chris at the ranch.
The Wedding Ceremony
These two had their wedding ceremony in the beautiful barn at Riverbend Ranch, between two whiskey barrels with stunning floral arrangements. The bride’s brother officiated, lending a personal touch to the ceremony. Chris and JoAnna’s personal vows were heartfelt and emotional, and there was not a dry eye in the entire venue – mine included! I love when you can feel the thought and care that the couple puts into their wedding day. Chris and JoAnna are absolutely ah-mazing together, and I loved being part of their special day.
Fun at the Wedding Reception
The wedding reception was the perfect balance of sentimental and fun. The emotional day continued with personal toasts and dinner before opening up the dance floor. Chris and JoAnna shared a sweet first dance under the string lights before inviting their kids and guests to join them on the dance floor. These two know how to throw a party!
Before the end of the day, we knew we had to get a few more portraits in. Chris and JoAnna wore matching Army jackets, along with a few family members. So much personality in this family, and I loved getting to know them!
